The Griffith family
Hugh Griffith and his wife Gill arrived at Aymestrey School in January 1966, moving into the main building with their daughters Pippa and Sarah, and the dog Fred.
They came from Daglingworth Manor School just outside Cirencester, which they had started in 1957.
In an interesting parallel to the Asterleys, who had sold Birkdale to a man called Griffith, and who brought 6 boys with them to Aymestrey House at Malvern, Hugh and Gill Griffith brought 6 boys with them.
More than one Asterley Old Boy has commented that the school remained much the same: small and friendly with a family atmosphere, teaching boys to be hard working and self reliant, while at the same time maintaining old fashioned values of honesty and manners.

it is great credit to you both to have managed to keep Aymestrey - as Aymestrey. My days there were certainly the best of my life.
