Crown East Court

_1857    Albert Hudson Royds, a Freemason after whom a Lodge in Worcestershire (No 1204) is named, bought the estate, of around 382 acres, at Crows Nest/Crown East.

1861    The Census records show Royds living at Crown East, Claphill Lane with his son (16) and daughter (17), a visitor, and 8 servants.
_
1866    The house was rebuilt, a number of other buildings including a church were constructed, and the estate was renamed Crown East Court, in the parish of St Johns.

1867    The Estate was put up for sale – it was advertised in The Times.  By now it was 417 acres.

1871     The April Census shows the house empty – the Royds family had moved to Ellerslie a couple of years earlier.
Henry Bramwell, JP, who purchased the Estate later in the year, was still in Durham

1876    The Church was relocated to its current site

1921    Henry Bramwell died 1 December.  His son, Henry D Bramwell, predeceased him in September.

__1922    The Asterleys moved Aymestrey House from Malvern, and renamed it Aymestrey Court.
The Gym is reputed to have been moved from Malvern Link in 1922.

_1928    The Boys Entrance was added to the west end of the house.

2000    The Senior Playroom (Common Room) and Boys Entrance were converted into a flat.

2005    3 separate residences were created from the kitchen block; the Science Room with the Junior Playroom above it; and the Fifth form and Library with the rooms above.
